Kia Driver Josue Juardo-Garza Killed in Highway 349 Collision [Upton County, TX]

Uptown County, TX (June 18, 2024) – 25-year-old Josue Juardo-Garza was killed in a Highway 349 collision Saturday afternoon.

The fatal crash happened at 2:40 p.m. at Mile Marker 372.

Troopers said a 2021 Kia K5 driven by Juardo-Garza was southbound on the freeway’s left lane. 

A Mack Truck driven by 25-year-old Brandon Renteria Ruiz swerved onto the east shoulder of the freeway and overcorrected. The Mack Truck then collided with the Kia.

Unfortunately, Josue Juardo-Garza was killed at the crash scene while Brandon Renteria Ruiz sustained minor injuries.

Officers are investigating.
