GRASS VALLEY, CA (May 12, 2024) – Saturday morning, Josiah Moncrieff sustained injuries in a devastating auto accident near State Highway 20.

The incident happened at about 2:45 a.m. near State Highway 20 and the South Ponderosa overcrossing in Nevada County.

According to reports, the crash led to the death of a 35-year-old woman, and a 35-year-old man was seriously hurt.

The DoorDash delivery turned fatal when the male driver fell asleep at the wheel around 2:45 a.m. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported that their car veered off the north side of the highway and collided with several trees.

Meanwhile, the impact of the crash resulted in the death of the female passenger, who was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver, identified as 35-year-old Moncrieff of Grass Valley, sustained major injuries and was transported to a Roseville hospital for treatment.

Investigators have determined that both the passenger and driver were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. Furthermore, neither drugs nor alcohol are believed to have been factors in the incident.
