Injuries Reported in Paso Robles Pedestrian Accident on Highway 101 and Highway 46
PASO ROBLES, CA (February 28, 2024) – Monday night, Joshua Parker suffered injuries in a crippling pedestrian crash on Highway 101 and Highway 46.
The incident occurred at about 6:40 p.m. when 23-year-old Paso Robles resident Edgar Gonzalez drove a 2005 Nissan sedan northbound on Highway 101 just south of the Highway 46 exit.
Meanwhile, 40-year-old Parker of Paso Robles was walking in the traffic lanes. Thus, Gonzalez’s vehicle hit the pedestrian.
Reports said that a man appeared to have been sitting in the lanes and walking in front of traffic. Then, a vehicle veered to avoid hitting another car and ended up striking Parker.
As a result, the crash shut down both northbound lanes at around 6:50 p.m. as Paso Robles police and fire departments came to the scene.
Meanwhile, an ambulance transported Parker to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center after suffering major injuries.
Also, 43-year-old Felipe Tiburcio of Paso Robles, and passenger in the Nissan, sustained injuries but refused medical aid. Reports confirmed that no one involved in the crash was arrested.
CHP spokesman Patrick Seebart added that Parker showed signs of being intoxicated during the incident. However, his blood alcohol content level was not known.
At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
Due to the limited information available, the authorities continued to investigate the crash.
