Car Crashes into Oak Tree at Santiago Canyon and Haul Roads Killing the Driver
SILVERADO, CA (May 25, 2019) – A man was killed after crashing his car into a tree early Saturday morning in Silverado.
The crash happened around 2:25 a.m. in the area of Santiago Canyon and Haul roads.
According to the CHP, a Mazda Protege was heading northbound on Santiago Canyon Road at high speeds, when it veered off the roadway, traveled through a barbed wire fence and slammed into an oak tree.
The impact was so strong that crews had to pry apart the car from the tree along the dark road to pull the driver out.
The driver, identified as a 19-year-old Joshua Morales of Santa Ana, was pronounced dead at the scene.
His four passengers, three men and a woman, were transported to local hospitals in critical condition.
No additional information was available. The crash remain under investigation.
