Joshua Harris Killed in Solo-Vehicle Crash on Durfee Avenue [El Monte, CA]

1 Dead and 1 Injured in Single-Vehicle Accident at Rush Street

 
EL MONTE, CA (May 27, 2018) – An early Sunday morning solo-vehicle crash claimed the life of a man and injured another in South El Monte. 25-year-old Joshua Harris of South El Monte was later identified as the casualty in the deadly crash.
 
According to authorities, the accident was initiated at around 3:10 AM at Durfee Avenue and Rush Street. A pickup truck, driven by Harris, collided with two parked and unoccupied vehicles, before slamming into a tree. The vehicle came to rest in the parking lot of an Auto Zone store in the area.
 
Harris was pronounced dead at the scene, while an unidentified male passenger was sent to a trauma center in an unknown condition. A third occupant in the vehicle reportedly fled from the scene and is currently being sought by the authorities.
 
The preliminary investigation determined that Harris was under the influence at the time of the collision. No additional information about this incident is available to the public at this time.
