Joseph Quintero Sr Fatally Struck by Car on Florence Ave [Downey, CA]

Hector Jonathan Aceves Vallejo Arrested after Killing Man at Gloria’s Cocina Mexicana Restaurant

 
DOWNEY, CA (May 17, 2018) – The victim of a suspected homicide has died in the hospital after being struck by a car on May 17th, along Florence Avenue.
 
Officers responded to the establishment at 7401 Florence Ave at around 10:20 PM that night and found the 49-year-old Joseph Quintero Sr, a security guard at Gloria’s Cocina Mexicana Restaurant, suffering from a head wound. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
 
Police found out that the incident began with an issue inside the restaurant between Vallejo and several women. The guard escorted Hector Jonathan Aceves Vallejo out of the premises and asked him to leave, but then the two men became engaged in a verbal dispute in the restaurant’s parking lot. Vallejo then allegedly got in his white Nissan Altima, struck the guard, and fled.
 
Vallejo was accused of purposefully running over Quintero and subsequently arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in connection with the incident after he turned himself in on Friday. Authorities are still looking to speak with two women who were with him Thursday night.
