Joseph Kustelski and Anne Ortmeier Injured When Tree Falls on Highway 2
Leavenworth, WA (September 4, 2020) – On Wednesday, 49-year-old Joseph Kustelski and his 38-year-old passenger Anne Ortmeier, both of Nashville, were injured when a tree fell on their vehicle on Highway 2.
The incident happened at about 5:15 p.m, west of Leavenworth, Washington.
Washington State Patrol Trooper John Bryant said Kustelski was driving west on a Jeep Wrangler. They were about 10 miles outside Leavenworth when the tree fell.
Bryant said Kustelski and Ortmeier were alert and conscious when the rescuers arrived. Though, Ortmeier suffered a head injury.
The authorities took both of them to Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee. Kustelski was treated and released while Ortmeier was listed in stable condition Thursday morning.
