2 Men Hurt in Cottonwood Auto Accident on Interstate 5 near Hooker Creek Road

 
COTTONWOOD, CA (July 29, 2021) – Tuesday night, Joseph Dalessia and Elton James Spain suffered injuries in a crash on Interstate 5.
 
The incident happened at about 8:15 p.m. on Interstate 5 near Hooker Creek Road. After the crash, the California Highway Patrol officers and Cal Fire personnel responded to the scene.
 
CHP Officer Omar Valdez revealed that 56-year-old Joseph Dalessia of Corona drove southbound a 2014 Dodge Ram on Interstate 5. Then, 59-year-old Troy Lynn Tempest of Spanaway, Washington drove a Kenworth semi-truck and trailer in the same direction.
 
As Delessia drove at an unsafe speed, he crashed with the rear of the trailer.
 
Then, the Dodge moved forward until it stopped down the road in the left lane.
 
As a result, Joseph Dalessia and his 45-year-old passenger Elton James Spain of Burney required hospitalization. An ambulance took both of them to Mercy Medical Center for minor injuries.
 
Furthermore, Valdez confirmed that the crash involved no other vehicles.
