1 Killed and 2 Injured in Collision near Northeast Little Boston Road
KINGSTON, WA (June 19, 2018) – One person was killed and two others were seriously injured in a two-vehicle collision on Hansville Road, early Tuesday morning. The deceased victim was later identified as 20-year-old Joseph Careaga.
At around 1:00 AM, Careaga was riding in a car traveling south on Hansville Road that struck a northbound car as it tried to make a turn onto Northeast Little Boston Road, near the Gliding Eagle Market. The car was moving at a high rate of speed before it hit the other car, caught fire, and became fully engulfed in flames. Careaga died at the scene.
The 18-year-old woman of Silverdale who was driving the car was taken to an area hospital with serious injuries. The 38-year-old Bremerton male driver of the turning vehicle sustained serious injuries and was flown to the Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. He was in critical condition as of Tuesday afternoon.
Hansville Road was shut down to all vehicles for more than five hours, while authorities conducted an investigation. Anyone with more information about the collision is urged to contact deputies at (360) 337-4634.
