Injuries Reported in Jamestown Pedestrian Accident on Main Street near Humbag Street
JAMESTOWN, CA (October 11, 2023) – Wednesday night, 36-year-old Joseph Altieri suffered injuries in an alarming hit-and-run crash on Main Street.
The incident happened at about 8:35 p.m. as Altieri walked on Main Street near Humbag Street.
Then, a southbound 2002 Lincoln LS sedan hit the pedestrian, leaving the victim with significant injuries.
Afterward, the driver fled the crash scene. Then, emergency officials came to help the victim and airlifted him to Memorial Medical Center in Modesto for treatment.
CHP spokesperson, Officer Steve Machado, added that the incident remained under investigation.
Furthermore, they urged anyone with information regarding the hit-and-run to contact the Sonora Area CHP Office at 209-984-3944.
At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
