Joselin Borjas Paogada and 4-Year-Old Child Dead After Auto-Pedestrian Crash on Spring Valley in Dallas

Dallas, TX (February 21, 2024) – On Tuesday afternoon, Joselin Borjas Paogada, 26, and her four-year-old daughter died in a crash on Spring Valley.

Reportedly, a car killed a mother and her little girl on Tuesday while they were walking along a North Dallas roadway. 

This section of North Dallas, along the Dallas-Richardson line on Spring Valley Road just east of Coit, sees thousands of cars daily. 

The sidewalks often become crowded with dozens of children and adults walking to and from school.

Joselin Borjas Paogada, 26, and her four-year-old daughter were attempting to cross Spring Valley near Esperanza just before 4 p.m. when a black Dodge Challenger driven by an unidentified person struck Paogada. 

Her little girl later died at Children’s Medical Center.

“I thought it was a car crash into another car. But no, our neighbor actually hit somebody,” said a 17-year-old witness who wished to remain anonymous. The driver remained at the scene and reported the incident to the police.

“At first, I thought it was just her mom, but then I saw a lot of people surrounding something. I didn’t know what it was,” the witness added. “So, I got a little closer and saw the little girl.”

Police have stated that no marked pedestrian crosswalk was at the location where Poagada and her child attempted to cross and have not indicated that any violation of law contributed to this tragedy.

Further investigation is underway.
