LANCASTER, CA (November 29, 2022) – Sunday morning, a deadly pedestrian crash on East Avenue I and 80th Street involved Jose Venegas.
 
The incident happened at about 5:45 a.m. on East Avenue I east of 80th Street East.
 
According to reports, an eastbound 1994 Ford Econoline 350 van hit a 28-year-old male pedestrian from Colton. As a result, the Colton man succumbed to injuries at the scene. At this time, the victim’s identity remained undisclosed due to pending family notification.
 
Meanwhile, the authorities confirmed that the involved driver stopped at the scene and was not arrested.
 
“This collision happened during the hours of darkness. There are no streetlights at this location,” the CHP report states.
 
Also, 48-year-old Ford Econoline driver, Jose Venegas, and 48-year-old Yakeline Almendares, both of Lancaster suffered no injuries in the crash.
 
Due to the limited information available, the authorities continued to investigate the crash.
