Husband and Wife Killed in Two-Car Collision at South Bethel Avenue
SELMA, CA (July 1, 2018) – A two-car collision left a couple dead on East Rose Avenue, on Sunday afternoon. The deceased victims were later identified as Jose Vasquez Becerra and Leticia Vasquez from Reedley.
California Highway Patrol stated that the crash occurred around 2:40 PM, at South Bethel Avenue. The couple was driving eastbound on Rose in a Nissan Altima when a Honda Civic failed to stop at a stop sign and T-boned their vehicle.
The impact of the collision caused the Altima to overturn several times and landed in the yard of a house at the corner of the intersection. Both Vasquez Becerra and Vasquez suffered fatal injuries and were pronounced dead on the scene by emergency responders.
The family of four – including a man and woman in their 30’s and two kids, a 9-year-old boy and 4-year-old girl – were taken to the Community Regional Medical Center (CRMC). Reportedly, the little girl suffered major facial injuries. There is no update on the current conditions of either family member.
No additional information has been released to the public, as the crash is still being investigated by the CHP at this time.
We at Sweet Law Group offer our deepest sympathies to Jose Vasquez Becerra and Leticia Vasquez. Wishing their family strength and courage during this very trying time. May they rest in peace.
