17-Year-Old Girl Dies in Hit-and-Run Crash Near South Main Street
Pleasanton, TX (October 7, 2023) – A 17-year-old girl was killed and the authorities arrested Jose Torres Garcia, 46, following a Humble Camp Road fatal collision Friday
Pleasanton Police Department officers received the crash report at 12:30 a.m. in the 700 block area near South Main Street.
When the authorities arrived at the scene, they located the teenage girl lying on the side of the road. The rescuers began life-saving measures and took the victim by ambulance to a local hospital where she later died.
According to the witnesses, they saw the girl walking when a southbound vehicle on Humble Camp Road struck her.
Officers were able to identify Jose Torres Garcia as the driver, who later returned to the accident scene.
The authorities booked Jose Torres Garcia in Atascosa County jail where he remains in custody. He was charged with failure to stop and render aid, resulting in death.
