Jose Sanchez Rodriguez Dead After Crash on 33rd Street in Phoenix
Phoenix, AZ (April 30, 2024) – On Tuesday, 50-year-old Jose Sanchez Rodriguez died in a crash on 33rd Street.
Police have identified the man hit and killed by an SUV in east Phoenix early Tuesday morning as 50-year-old Jose Sanchez Rodriguez.
The crash occurred just after midnight near 33rd Street and McDowell Road. Upon arrival, officers found Rodriguez seriously injured after an SUV struck him.
Emergency services rushed him to a nearby hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The driver involved in the crash remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
Detectives believe Rodriguez was walking northbound and attempting to cross McDowell Road when an eastbound vehicle hit him.
Authorities do not suspect impairment as a factor in the crash, although the investigation continues.
