2 People Hospitalized in Johnson Valley Vehicle Crash on Old Woman Springs Road near Valley Vista Road

JOHNSON VALLEY, CA (June 15, 2023) – Wednesday morning, Jose Salazar-Ramirez sustained injuries in a disastrous hit-and-run accident on Old Woman Springs Road.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a northbound 2005 Nissan Frontier rear-ended a trailer being pulled by a 1994 Chevrolet Silverado that stopped in the northbound lanes with no lights on. Then, the Chevrolet driver fled the scene on foot after the crash.

Moreover, responders transported the Nissan driver, Salazar-Ramirez with major injuries, and his passenger, 75-year-old Arminda Gomez with minor injuries, to Hi-Desert Medical Center for treatment.

Furthermore, officers said that the hit-and-run driver is best described as a thin white man, 50-60 years of age, with grayish long hair and a beard.

At this time, the circumstances involved in the crash remained unclear. When additional information became available, the public will be notified.
