Hit-and-Run Driver Wanted after Two-Vehicle Crash near Cecil Avenue
DELANO, CA (June 4, 2019) – A hit-and-run crash seriously injured 32-year-old Jose Rosas, Tuesday evening.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on Highway 99, at about 5:55 PM. Due to unknown circumstances, a northbound 2001 Ford Focus veered across the two leftmost lanes and collided with a 2007 Chevy Silverado.
The impact of the crash caused the Silverado to hit a nearby freeway sign, go up a dirt embankment, and slam into a tree.
Rosas, the sole occupant of the Silverado, suffered moderate to major injuries. Emergency responders transported him to Kern Medical Center, where his condition remains unknown. Meanwhile, the driver of the Ford Focus fled the scene on foot.
An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the collision. Additional information will be released once it becomes available.
