61-Year-Old Male Bicyclist Killed in Collision near Valencia Avenue
SAN BERNARDINO, CA (March 23, 2020) – Early Thursday evening, 61-year-old Jose Rincon was killed in a bicycle accident on Baseline Street.
California Highway Patrol revealed that the car and bicycle collision occurred around 5:06 p.m. Dispatchers arrived to the area near Valencia Avenue shortly after.
According to reports, Rincon was traveling in a bicycle on the road when a car struck him for unknown reasons. The impact left the bicyclist with life-threatening injuries. Authorities declared him dead on scene.
Meanwhile, the vehicle driver’s condition was not released.
The surrounding area on Baseline Street was closed off for a brief time during preliminary duties. However, the roadway has since reopened.
Moreover, the crash investigation is currently being handled by the San Bernardino Police Department.
