Keyes, CA (June 21, 2021) – On Saturday, Merced man Jose Reyes Morales died and Patterson man Favio Valencia Jr was injured in a DUI crash on East Keyes Road.
 
Indeed, the fatal Keyes crash took place at about 10:10 p.m. at the intersection of Mountain View Road.
 
Officers said Morales, southbound on his a 2009 Toyota Camry, was stopped at the stop sign at Mountain View Road’s intersection.
 
Suddenly, he pulled into the path of a westbound 1998 Toyota 4Runner on Keyes Road, driven by Valencia. Reports said there are no stop signs on the intersection of Keyes Road.
 
As a result, Morales’ vehicle was struck on the driver’s side, and rescuers had to extricate him from his car.
 
Right away, rescuers rushed him to Memorial Medical Center in Modesto where he died.
 
Similarly, Valencia also was taken to Memorial Medical Center in Modesto with minor injuries.
