1 Hospitalized in San Luis Obispo County Vehicle Crash on Highway 101 near Highway 166
SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY, CA (September 11, 2022) – Friday, Jose Perez Hernandez sustained injuries in an auto accident on Highway 101 near Highway 166.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at around 1:30 p.m. Also, the collision occurred on southbound Highway 101, north of the Highway 166 offramp.
Reports revealed that a southbound 2006 GMC truck veered to the right. Then, it sideswiped a Caltrans truck and struck a Caltrans worker. The GMC truck stopped on the southbound shoulder of the highway after the incident.
Moreover, responders rushed the Caltrans worker, 42-year-old Jose Perez Hernandez to Marian Regional Medical Center with major injuries.
Furthermore, the GMC driver, 29-year-old Alexander Ayala, remained at the scene to cooperate with the authorities.
Meanwhile, the incident blocked Highway 101 for several hours but has long since reopened.
Also, the crash remained under investigation.
