Leavenworth Traffic Accident Leaves Two Motorcyclists Hospitalized
Leavenworth, WA (September 26, 2022) – At about 4:24 p.m. on Saturday, 55-year-old Jose Niebles-Lopez and 50-year-old Aurora Manriquez sustained injuries in a multi-vehicle collision on US 2.
According to the officers, a gray 2020 Chevrolet Equinox was eastbound on the freeway. The vehicle turned around a right corner at milepost 95. Then, it crossed the center lane and struck a red 2017 Toyota in the opposite lane.
As a result, the Toyota went sideways on the eastbound lane when it was struck by a motorcycle group traveling from Mexico.
One of the motorcycles veered into an embankment on the right shoulder.
The paramedics airlifted Jose Niebles-Lopez, the driver of the first motorcycle, and Aurora Manriquez, the passenger, to Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee.
Aurora Manriquez incurred severe leg injuries due to the accident.
Moreover, the paramedics transported the driver of the second motorcycle, David Ramirez, and Maria Casillas, the passenger, to Cascade Medical Center. They sustained minor injuries.
Officers say the Toyota driver and passenger did not sustain injuries from the crash.
The Chevrolet driver incurred minor injuries but was not transported to a medical center.
In the meantime, officers are investigating the Leavenworth traffic collision.
