Early Morning Kenwood Crash on Highway 12 Injures Two Men
KENWOOD, CA (March 26, 2019) – Two men were injured following a head-on crash early Tuesday morning in Kenwood, CHP officials said.
The crash happened just before 5:00 a.m. on Highway 12 at Hoff Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a Chevrolet Silverado, driven by a 28-year-old Jose Antonio Farias Moreno of Santa Rosa, was traveling eastbound on the highway when it veered into the roadway, crossed the double-yellow lines and collided head-on with a westbound Chevrolet Traverse, driven by Scott Eddinger, 57, of Sonoma.
Moreno and Eddinger were both taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital with moderate injuries.
The crash caused severe damage on both vehicles and created a traffic jam on the heavily used two‑lane, east‑county highway. Debris from the crash scene was cleared by 7:00 a.m.
It is unknown if intoxication was a factor in the crash. The incident is still under investigation.
