41-Year-Old Oxnard Man Fatally Injured after Struck by Pickup near Grant Avenue
OXNARD, CA (March 29, 2018) – A 41-year-old man died on Friday after being critically injured in a pedestrian collision on Cooper Road on Thursday evening.
The crash occurred around 8:21 PM when a pickup truck, driven by a 53-year-old Oxnard man, was headed westbound on Cooper Road near Grant Avenue. The vehicle struck 41-year-old Jose Luis Gonzalez-Roldan of Oxnard who was crossing the road on foot at the time.
Police officials and emergency personnel arrived at the scene to find Gonzalez-Roldan with serious injuries. He was taken to the Ventura County Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries, and was pronounced dead the next day.
The driver of the pickup remained at the scene after the crash and cooperated with investigators. Authorities did not immediately confirm if alcohol or drugs were involved.
