Bicyclist Jose Gastelum Fatally Struck in San Jose Accident

 
SAN JOSE, CA (February 1. 2021) – Sunday morning, bicyclist Jose Gastelum died in a hit-and-run crash on South First Street and Reed Street.
 
According to authorities, they received a report of the crash at around 4:30 p.m. It happened in the area of South First Street and Reed Street.
 
Reports revealed that a northbound dark “Chevrolet Silverado-type” truck struck and killed a southbound bicyclist on South First Street.
 
Meanwhile, responders pronounced the victim dead at the scene after lifesaving attempts.
 
Moreover, the Santa Clara County Coroner’s office revealed the victim’s identity as Jose Francisco Gastelum, 36.
 
Police said that the hit-and-run vehicle is best described as a dark, black, or blue, fairly new Chevrolet Silverado. Additionally, it has a covered bed that sustained front end damage due to the incident.
 
Anyone with information regarding the suspect vehicle is asked to call the authorities.
