2 Hurt in Salinas Pedestrian Accident on Stone Street
SALINAS, CA (January 21, 2020) – Two people suffered serious injuries after a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on Stone Street, on January 13.
Authorities arrested a man after seriously injuring two women ages 90 and 68 in a hit-and-run crash. First responders arrived at Sacred Heart Church and 22 Stone Street.
According to reports, a northbound silver Chevrolet Suburban hit both woman and fled the scene.
Responders took the injured people to Natividad Medical Center with serious injuries. Moreover, the 68-year-old victim was released from the hospital. However, the 90-year-old victim is still listed in serious but stable condition.
On January 18, officers found the suspect, in this case, 63-year-old Jose Garcia. They arrested Garcia on suspicion of hit-and-run
resulting in injury, driving without a license and a probation violation. They set his bail at $200,000 and booked him into the Monterey County Jail.
The authorities also took his vehicle as evidence.
