Desert Hot Springs Man Dies after Crashing into Pole in Thousand Palms
THOUSAND PALMS, CA (July 27, 2019) – A young man was killed after crashing his vehicle into a pole Saturday evening in Thousand Palms.
The Riverside County Coroner’s office identified him as Jose Cristales, 18, of Desert Hot Springs.
Cristales was driving a red Toyota Avalon when he crashed his vehicle into a street light pole around 9:00 p.m. at Varner and Ramon roads. He was found trapped inside the wreckage and was pronounce dead at the scene.
There were no other victims.
The CHP is still piecing together exactly what led up to the crash but do not believe any other vehicles were involved.
