San Antonio, TX (October 17, 2024) – 20-year-old Jose Chavez was killed in a dirt bike accident on Palmetto Avenue afternoon.

It was about 2:20 p.m. when the fatal crash happened at the intersection with Schley Avenue.

Police said Jose Chavez was riding a dirt bike along a sidewalk. At the same time, an SUV was also heading the same direction.

The SUV driver attempted to turn onto Schley Avenue but collided with the dirt bike.

As a result, Jose Chavez flew off the dirt bike. He was rushed to an area hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Officers said Jose Chavez was not wearing any protective equipment.
