Luis Baires Arrested for Fatal Motorcycle Crash on North Alta Avenue
DINUBA, CA (May 10, 2018) – A man suspected of fleeing from a fatal motorcycle accident that took place on April 18th, was arrested by Dinuba Police on Thursday.
The man was identified as 27-year-old Luis Baires of Reedley. From investigation and tips from the community, evidence lead officials to believe that Baires was the man driving the Suburban that struck 27-year-old Jose Carlos Romero. He was arrested at his home at the 600 block of East Manning Avenue in Reedley.
The original accident took place around 10:30 PM on April 18th, at the intersection of Sequoia Drive and North Alta Avenue. Authorities arrived at the scene to find Romero critically injured by his motorcycle. He was airlifted to a local hospital, where he died ten days later.
