Jose Borba and Guadalupe Maldonado in Turlock DUI Collision on South Washington Road and West Harding Road
TURLOCK, CA (February 26, 2019) – Two people suffered major injuries in a suspected DUI crash southwest of Turlock on Friday, February 22.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened just before 4 p.m. at the intersection of South Washington Road and West Harding Road.
56-year-old Jose Borba, of Delhi, was moving west on Harding in a 2010 Toyota Tundra when he stopped at the Washington Road intersection. Guadalupe Maldonado was driving north on Washington in a 2012 Honda Civic. She was going at around 58 mph and had the right of way, the CHP stated.
As she draws near the intersection, Borba began to cross Washington, into Maldonado’s path. She failed to avoid the collision, the CHP said.
Maldonado and Borba were both transported to Doctors Medical Center. The severity of their conditions was not immediately available.
CHP Officer Thomas Olsen said on Monday that Borba has been placed under arrest on suspicion of felony driving under the influence and for being an unlicensed driver.
