1 Killed and 1 Arrested after Single-Vehicle Rollover Crash near Clark Road
GREENFIELD, CA (July 4, 2019) – Authorities identified Jose Antonio Menjivar of Salinas as the man killed in a DUI crash near Clark Road, Thursday afternoon.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at about 2:55 PM. An eastbound 2002 Honda veered off the roadway, spun across both lanes of Arroyo Seco Road, and dove into a dirt embankment of an irrigation ditch. Then, the vehicle rolled over several times.
Unfortunately, Menjivar sustained serious injuries and died at the scene. Meanwhile, a second passenger, identified as 21-year-old Jose Benedito Escobar, suffered major injuries. Authorities did not provide updates about Escobar’s current condition.
Officers arrested the driver, identified as 21-year-old Jose Flores Orellana, on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and driving under the influence.
