Roberto Vejar and Adelmira Sanchez Injured, Paola Montez, Jorge and Dorian Alvarado Killed in Earlimart Crash
Earlimart, CA (September 16, 2020) – On Monday, 48-year-old Roberto Vejar and 35-year-old Adelmira Sanchez, both from Delano, were injured in a vehicle crash on Avenue 48.
Moreover, California Highway Patrol said the fatal accident happened at around 3:20 p.m. on September 14. It involved two vehicles in the area of Road 160.
Initially, a 2014 Nissan Sentra driven by a 26-year-old McFarland woman Paola Montez was traveling northbound on Road 160 when she failed to stop for a sign. As a result, it crashed with a 2003 Toyota Tacoma traveling west on Avenue 48.
Thus, authorities pronounced Ms. Montez and her two passengers, a 4-year-old Jorge Alvarado a 4-month old Dorian Alvarado, dead at the scene. They said the children were not properly restrained in child passenger restraints.
Meanwhile, rescuers took Roberto Vejar, and his passenger, Adelmira Sanchez, to the hospital. They suffered minor injuries.
Authorities said alcohol and drugs were not a factor in the Earlimart crash.
Furthermore, the police continue to investigate the accident that lead to the death of three McFarland residents.
