34-Year-Old Man Killed in Pedestrian-Train Collision near Arrastre Canyon Road and Crown Valley Road
ACTON, CA (February 8, 2018) – A man was struck by a train in Acton on Thursday night at around 7:33 PM has been identified by authorities.
The victim was identified on Friday afternoon by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner as Jordan Smith, a 34-year-old homeless man. Smith was walking in an area where pedestrians are not permitted and died at the scene of the crash.
According to Lt. Anthony Gunn of the Palmdale Sheriff’s Station, sheriff’s officials received a call shortly before 8 PM regarding a pedestrian on the tracks that was struck by a train near the Arrastre Canyon Road and Crown Valley Road intersection. The crash occurred about a mile south of the Vincent-Grade Acton Station.
No other injuries were reported in this fatal train accident.
