84-Year-Old woman Hospitalized in 2-Car Crash on Birch Bay Drive
Whatcom County, WA (October 5, 2022) On Saturday evening, 24-year-old Jordan Pickett was arrested in a hit-and-run crash on Shintaffer Road hat injured an 84-year-old woman.
Authorities say that the 2-car crash happened at around 6:36 p.m. at the intersection with Birch Bay Drive.
Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office say that Pickett was on a westbound vehicle travelling in excess of 90 mph collided with the woman’s car.
Moreover, a passenger inside Picketts vehicle says that Pickewt was out for a “joy ride” after being released from jail. Additionally, the passenger reported that Pickett was drinking beer earlier that day.
Pickett got out of the vehicle and told his passenger to run. The suspect driver fled the scene, but authorities later apprehended and arrested Jordan.
Meanwhile, paramedics transported the woman to St. Joseph’s hospital in Bellingham. Reports say that the vehicles airbag deployed.
