1 Person Dead in Modesto Auto Accident on Chicago Avenue near Carpenter Road

MODESTO, CA (October 2, 2023) – Saturday afternoon, Jordan Hill and Jared Lomeli sustained injuries in a fatal rollover crash on Chicago Avenue near Carpenter Road.

The incident happened at around 3:45 p.m. on Chicago Avenue, west of South Carpenter Road.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a 2022 Can-Am off-road vehicle attempted to make a U-Turn, lost control, and overturned.

Moreover, officers confirmed that a 20-year-old passenger of the vehicle died in the crash. Then, paramedics transported 19-year-old passenger Hill, to Doctors Medical Center for treatment.

Also, responders treated Lomeli, 21, at the scene. The 14-year-old driver of the ATV sustained no injuries in the crash.

Furthermore, officers do not believe that drugs or alcohol played a role in the incident.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the CHP continued to investigate the crash.
