1 Person Dead in Santa Maria Auto Accident on Highway 135 and Foster Road

SANTA MARIA, CA (September 24, 2024) – Monday afternoon, Jordan Gutierrez sustained injuries in a fatal head-on crash on Highway 135 and Foster Road.

The incident happened at noon, on Highway 135 at Foster Road.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a northbound Nissan veered across the southbound lanes and collided head-on with a Honda.

Moreover, responders rushed the drivers of both vehicles to Marian Regional Medical Center, where the 79-year-old driver of the Honda was later pronounced dead. Also, authorities confirmed that the driver of the Nissan, identified as 26-year-old Gutierrez, sustained major injuries in the incident.

Furthermore, the crash closed Highway 135 but has long since reopened.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the CHP continued to investigate the crash.
