CHP Investigates Fatal Traffic Collision near Normandie Avenue
Athens, CA (February 3, 2024) On Friday morning, 20-year-old Jonathan Pena Langarcia and another victim died after their vehicle drove off the Glenn Anderson (105) Freeway.
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the fatal traffic collision happened around 2:26 a.m. near Normandie Avenue.
Reports say that a white sedan had been racing with victims before the crash, and the sedan fled the scene without stopping to render aid.
Officials say that the victim’s vehicle went off the 105 Freeway, split in two, and then collided with a tree. Authorities pronounced both Langarcia and another occupant of the vehicle dead at the scene.
