North Hollywood Teen Jonathan Navarro Dies in a Multiple Car Crash on 110 Freeway
Los Angeles, CA (April 10, 2020) – Jonathan Navarro was identified as the teen who was killed in a chain-reaction crash on 110 Freeway on April 5.
Los Angeles County coroner officials confirmed the 16-year-old as dead on the scene at about 9 p.m. on the southbound 110 Freeway, south of Wilshire Boulevard.
The multiple-vehicle crash involved a 2006 Hyundai Azera, a 2009 Nissan Versa, and a 2012 Ford Edge.
The three vehicles were all within the No. 5 lane, while a 2000 Nissan Quest was in the No. 4 lane.
According to California Highway Patrol Officer S. Brown, the crash began when the Ford Edge suddenly made an unsafe turn.
Eventually, the Edge driver was unable to regain control of his vehicle and struck it into a concrete wall.
Due to this, the Edge crashed with the Hyundai, which lead to a chain-reaction collision affecting the other 2 vehicles.
The Versa driver, a 59-year old man, suffered minor injuries.
The 18-year old Edge driver, as well as his 18-year old female passenger, sustained minor injuries as well.
However, Jonathan Navarro, a passenger in the Edge also, was killed.
Furthermore, Brown confirmed that drugs and alcohol were not a factor in the accident.
