2 People Hurt in Fatal Traffic Collision on Sadberry Road
Robertson County, TX (May 14, 2024) On Saturday morning, 84-year-old Johnnie Payton of College Station died after a 2-vehicle crash on Highway 6 that injured 2 others.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), the fatal traffic collision happened at about 9:24 a.m. on state Highway 6 and Sadberry Road.
Reports say that Payton was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe that was attempting to turn south, but failed to yield the right of way to a northbound 2021 GMC Sierra towing a trailer, causing a collision.
Officials pronounced Payton dead at the scene, while the driver and passenger of the GMC were treated by medics at the scene.
DPS is investigating the fatal collision and has not released further details.
