Bakersfield Vehicle Collision Kills Driver and Passenger
Bakersfield, CA (December 31, 2022) – Yesterday, John Rodrigues, 48, of Bakersfield, was involved in a vehicle crash on Highway 178 that killed two people.
The CHP responded to the scene at around 9:22 a.m., east of Powerhouse #1.
When they arrived, a Kern County Fire Department personnel told the officers that the Toyota Corolla occupants lost their lives as a result of the collision.
They were a 64-year-old Weldon woman who was driving the Toyota Corolla and her passenger, a 66-year-old Lake Isabella man.
Reports say that the Weldon woman was traveling at an unknown speed while John Rodrigues was driving an eastbound 2010 Ford F-150 at about 40 mph and approaching the Toyota.
The Toyota swerved into the eastbound lane directly into the path of the Ford.
Unfortunately, both people riding the Toyota died in the accident.
