Officer Fatally Hit by Vehicle in Houston
Harris County, TX (April 24, 2024) – Harris County deputy John Hampton Coddou was killed in a Grand Parkway pedestrian crash Tuesday morning.
Officers said Coddou was assisting at a crash scene when he was struck by a vehicle at Cumberland Ridge Drive in Houston.
Life Flight responded to the collision to airlift the officer to Memorial Herman.
Coddou sustained serious injuries and was later declared deceased.
The accident report stated that Coddou served at the Harris County Sheriff’s Office for at least 20 years.
In the meantime, there is no information if any charges will be filed against the involved driver.
