Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Accident Kills 69-Year-Old Oakland Man on 9200 Block of MacArthur Boulevard

 
OAKLAND, CA (January 25, 2018) – Early morning on Thursday around 1:20 AM, a 69-year-old man from Oakland was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver on the 9200 block of MacArthur Boulevard.
 
The victim was identified by the Alameda County Coroner’s Bureau as John Edward Winslow. According to police reports, Winslow was walking on the street, when a black compact car hit him. The vehicle reportedly stopped briefly and continued to drive, leaving the man injured in the road.
 
Police and emergency personnel arrived and pronounced the Oakland man dead on the the scene. It is unclear whether or not drugs and alcohol were involved. No other information on the hit-and-run driver or the vehicle involved has been revealed.
 
Authorities are still searching for the hit-and-run driver. Police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering up to $10,000 in reward money for information leading to the arrest of the suspect.
