John Andel of Buna Killed in Fiery Vehicle Crash on Highway 62 [Buna, TX]

Drivers Dies in Jasper County Vehicle Crash

Buna, TX (September 21, 2024)John Andel, 33, of Buna, was killed in a fiery vehicle crash on Highway 62 late Thursday night.

It was about 11:40 p.m. when the deadly crash happened near County Road 806 in Jasper County.

Troopers said a 2013 Chevrolet Traverse SUV, driven by James Duke, 20, of Vidor, was southbound on Highway 62.

The SUV drove into the northbound lanes, struck an oncoming 2017 Ford F-150 pickup, and burst into flames.

The Ford driver, John Andel, and James Duke, were killed at the crash scene.

Meanwhile, the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the fatal collision.
