Rider Dies after Crash with Car on West Lathrop Road in Manteca
MANTECA, CA (November 24, 2019) – A man was killed in a motorcycle accident Sunday night in Manteca, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The crash happened around 6:47 p.m. in the 1100 block of West Lathrop Road, just east of North Union Road.
According to Manteca police, the man was riding his motorcycle when he collided with a car. He suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
The San Joaquin County Coroner’s Office later identified the victim as John Alonzo Jr., 38, of Manteca.
The driver of the car remained on the scene and cooperated with police.
Lathrop Road between South Union Road and Arrowsmith Drive were closed for several hours while officers investigated the crash, the police department said.
