Man Killed in Spring Valley Pedestrian Crash on Jamacha Road
SPRING VALLEY, CA (February 17, 2019) – A 45-year-old man out jogging early in Spring Valley died after he was struck by a car on Wednesday, February 13.
The man described to be wearing dark clothing was running westbound in an eastbound lane of Jamacha Road near Darby Street. Then a Chevrolet Tahoe moving east at around 4:25 a.m. struck him, according to California Highway Patrol Officer Travis Garrow.
The 31-year-old male driver from Spring Valley remained at the scene after the crash, Garrow said.
For reasons still under investigation, the front of the Chevrolet struck with the pedestrian within the eastbound No. 2 lane of Jamacha Road, Garrow stated.
Paramedics and CHP officers rushed to the scene and gave emergency aid to the pedestrian. Yet, the man died from his injuries before he could be brought to a hospital.
Alcohol or drugs were not believed to be a factor in the incident.
