POMONA, CA (October 6, 2024) – Friday afternoon, Joey Gomez and another person died in a horrific wrong-way crash on 10 Freeway.

The incident happened at around 4:45 p.m. on the San Bernardino (10) Freeway, near Kellogg Drive.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a westbound black BMW X6 that was being chased by authorities lost control and crashed into a dirt berm. Then, the force of the crash pushed the BMW roll over multiple times.

Moreover, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed that two passengers of the vehicle were ejected from the vehicle and died, including 34-year-old Gomez. Then, paramedics rushed a 45-year-old man to Pomona Valley Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Furthermore, officers said that a white Toyota C-HR was struck by debris from the crash, but no one else sustained injuries.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.
