1 Dead in Tucson Auto Accident near E Valencia Road and S Alvernon Way
TUCSON, AZ (April 8, 2024) – Friday morning, 29-year-old Joellen Maria Gonzalez died in a crippling car crash near E Valencia Road.
The incident happened when Gonzalez collided with another car near East Valencia Road and South Alvernon Way Friday morning.
Reports said that she drove into oncoming traffic — likely while speeding — and struck a 52-year-old man.
Then, Gonzalez’s car tires might have failed, which caused her to lose control of the vehicle.
Meanwhile, responders took the man who was not impaired, to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Moreover, officers confirmed that the female driver succumbed to injuries at the scene.
Also, the authorities are still trying to determine if she was impaired at the time of the crash. Meanwhile, the authorities haven’t issued any charges or citations.
At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
Due to the limited information available, the authorities continued to investigate the crash.
