Joe Banes Dies after Hit-And-run Crash West 60th Street in Florence
Florence, CA (August 13, 2020) – Wednesday night, 50-year-old Joe Banes died in a hit-and-run crash south of the 200 blocks of West 60th Street.
Police responded to a report about a dead body at around 11:50 p.m. on August 12.
Initial investigation reveals the man was lying in the alley when a vehicle failed to stop and ran him over.
Moreover, surveillance footage shows a person stopped and looked at the body. The person in the video struck a fence.
This person may not be involved in the incident but a person of interest to talk to about what happened in the alley said an LAPD detective.
Furthermore, authorities have yet to describe the vehicle or the suspect involved as the footage does not record the impact.
Further investigation continues.
