Indio, CA (September 12, 2022) On Sunday morning, a police officer was hurt after chasing to arrest 26-year-old Job Williams of Blythe in a parking lot on Highway 111.

The Indio Police Department says that the pursuit accident happened at around 9:35 a.m. in the 82-100 block of Highway 111.

Reports say that Williams and another person was loitering the area and police attempted to arrest Williams, after it was found Williams had outstanding warrants.

Officers say that WIlliams fled of foot and police gave chase. A vehicle struck the officer chasing Williams at the intersection of Monroe Street and Highway 111.

Paramedics say that the officer suffered injuries. Afterward, an ambulance transported the injured officer to a hospital, he has stable vital signs.

Meanwhile, another officer arrested Job Williams around 9:50 a.m. in the 81-900 block of Highway 111.

The California Highway Patrol is investigating the collision, the CP say that the driver did not leave the scene and cooperated with officials.
