2 People Injured in Fatal Wrong-Way Crash on US 287
Midlothian, TX (November 26, 2023) On Friday midnight, 38-year-old Lakeshia Savala and 38-year-old Joanna Cain died while 2 others were injured after a wrong-way crash on US 287.
According to the Midlothian Police Department, the fatal collision happened at about midnight on US 287 in Midlothian, southeast of Fort Worth.
Reports say that a vehicle going the wrong way on Highway 287 collided with another vehicle. Officials say that first responders found a vehicle on fire, and firefighters were able to extinguish the flames.
Authorities say that both the driver and a passenger in the wrong-way vehicle died at the scene. Officials identified them as Lakeshia Savala and Joanna Cain.
Meanwhile, another passenger in the wrong-way vehicle and the driver of the vehicle suffered serious injuries and were airlifted to the hospital in critical condition.
Police are investigating the fatal crash and have not released further information at this time.
