62-Year-Old Woman Fatally Struck by Hit-and-Run Vehicle near East 84th Place
LOS ANGELES, CA (August 2, 2018) – A homeless woman was killed early Thursday morning after she was struck by a vehicle near East 84th Place.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the incident happened at about 1 AM. 62-year-old Joan Davis was crossing in the area of South Central Avenue at East 84th Place when she was hit by a vehicle.
Authorities believe that Davis was dragged three blocks away from the scene of the crash. She sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead by responding emergency crews. Meanwhile, the involved driver failed to stop to render aid to Davis. Other vehicles might have also struck the woman following the initial collision.
Anyone with relevant information regarding this crash, and/or the identity of the hit-and-run driver is encouraged to contact the authorities as soon as possible. No further details have been released to the public at this time.
